Helen Mshelia James is an innovative and driven Certified National Accountant with over 30 years work experience. She is a holder of Bsc Accountancy and Master Degree in Business Administration (Finance) which she obtained from the University of Maiduguri in the year 1987 and 2006 respectively.

She has worked with the Bank for over 19 years before joining Borno State Government where she rose to the position of Director Finance and Account. Presently, she is the Director of Pension Borno State Government and has received commendation from the Governor of the state. Under her leadership, Helen has successfully migrated retired staff from salary payroll to pension payroll. Through her dedicated team’s expertise, she has ensured that all outstanding payments of gratuity from 2013-2016 have been duly settled. As part of a larger team, Helen through her role has continuously ensured payments of late benefits of the deceased are timely made to next of kin. Ultimately, she was part of the team that spearheaded the verification and enrolment of un-captured live pensioners into pension schemes.

Helen is currently the Accountant of Mwada-Gana Foundation where she is accurately and efficiently supports accounting activities for a diverse range of projects within the organisation. She manages various grants and has been handling various organisational development strategies, internal controls and general administration. Helen has cognitive experience in NGO Financial Management. She has held this position since 2018. Helen has been evaluated to be hardworking, dedicated, honest and a dependable staff. She thrives to see a more transparent and accountable Nigeria.
